Craft a Week- Week 12

Well crafters, I've been doing a craft a week for 12 weeks now, yay! I have had so much fun crafting each week. Week 12's craft was a gift for one of dearest friends- Carlee Cohen now Supak :) She got married on March 23rd. I wanted to make her something special to remind her of her wedding. In numerous places I've seen where you can write on a mug or plate with a sharpie and bake it in the oven to set the marker. I know she's an avid tea drinker, so I wanted to make her a "his and hers" mug set.

I started off with two mugs I got from Target. I loved the sweet little dot detail at the top.

I wrote on the mug, the handle, and inside. Then baked 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

They said "good morning handsome" and "good morning beautiful." Each had a heart with "Mr. & Mrs." on the other side.

"I <3 U" on the inside

Their wedding date on the handle.

Being a recent bride, I enjoyed getting a special gift on the day of my wedding. I wanted Carlee to get something special on her big day too.

Craft a Week- Week 11

This week's craft is super fun and I am super pleased with the results! Let's begin... Ombre is super hot right now. I had ombre put in my hair 6 months ago and loved it. So I came across a Pinterest pin with timing for making an ombre shirt.

I got a white t-shirt and blue dye from Hobby Lobby. I used an old bucket to put the dye in.

I wore gloves so I didn't dye my hands. I used a timer and went by the times shown on the pic above. I started at the bottom for 10 minutes and went up the shirt. After the 30 second mark I dunked the entire shirt in the dye and pulled it back out. I wanted the ombre to start with light blue instead of white.

Here's the shirt while it was still wet.

And here it is dry after I washed it. I LOVE it! The ombre is perfect <3

Craft a Week- Week 10

Sorry I've gotten behind my crafty followers! I've doing my crafts weekly, but haven't found the time to post them, until now. Week 10's craft was my mom's idea. She wanted blingy shoes for the summer. We purchased cheap flip flops from Target and rhinestones from Hobby Lobby.

I added black rhinestones to the flip flops with the bow.

Then I added the silver rhinestones and the silver embellishment to the black flip flops.

This craft was SUPER easy to do. And it was a fun way to dress up plain shoes. I used a flexible jewel glue for the stones and E6000 for the beaded embellishment. Thanks mom for the idea!

Craft a Week- Week 9

A week ago my sister gave me a vintage makeup vanity. Let me tell you, I absolutely adore having a vanity! I love being able to sit down and put on my makeup and fix my hair. With dry time, flat iron, and applying makeup, it takes up a good 40 to 45 minutes; that's just too much standing. Haha! Now that I have a vanity, I don't need to keep my makeup in one of those makeup bags. My craft this week is makeup organization and decorating the vanity. I wanted to make a brush holder and a flower arrangement.

This is how I started the flower arrangement. I got a floral vase and lace by the yard from Hobby Lobby. I used Modge Podge and applied it directly to the lace over the vase.

After it dried, I added a satin ribbon around the middle and embellished it with a pearl and rhinestone brooch. I made a hydrangea bouquet to put in the vase.

Next I took the smaller vases I bought and added the same satin ribbon and a black flower.

I added my eye brushes in one vase, and my face brushes in another.

Next came the makeup organization part. This is my everyday makeup. I also have a whole basket full of more shadows and powders. I went through all the stuff I never wore and threw it away.

Shadows...

Powders...

Base and eyes...

Ta-Da! Finished product!!! I love the way everything turned out. I look forward to getting ready in the mornings.

Keep on Crafting,
